STRAWBERRY PIE With our fresh-daily fruit pies, the Austin Grills have always celebrated the "Tex" side of our Tex-Mex roots. What better way to end a meal flavored with lusty chilies than with a thick slice of homemade Strawberry Pie! Pie Crust- One 8" pie shell
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 2. Combine dry ingredients in a small mixing bowl. Add butter using an electric mixer. 3. Add wet ingredients and continue to mix until a heavy, dough consistency is achieved. Refrigerate for 1 hour. 4. Roll it out to 1/4 thickness and line an 8" pie pan. 5. Lower the temperature of the oven to 350 degrees and bake crust until golden. Pie Filling
1. Take one basket of strawberries and mash them together with the corn starch, cold water and sugar. 2. Place over a low heat and cook slowly until very thick. 3. Refrigerate until cool and mix in the other two baskets of strawberries. Whipped Cream
Using an electric mixer, whip together the cream, sugar and vanilla until stiff. Fill the pie shell with the strawberry mixture and top with a thick layer of whipped cream.
